On June 24th, Refugee History is hosting a screening of Calais Children at Cinema City as part of Norwich Refugee Week 2018. Attendance is free and all are welcome. Event details here.
Calais Children is a film and live campaign by Sue Clayton. It follows what happened to the almost 2000 lone children who were in the Calais Jungle when it burned down at the end of 2016. Most of these children had a legal case to be in the UK. The documentary served as evidence when the case of one of the unaccompanied minors from Calais went to the High Court in February 2018. The film will be preceded by a short documentary made by a student at UEA and followed by a Q&A responding to the film and highlighting the work of local refugee organisations in Norfolk. The panel will include representatives from CIty of Sanctuary, Phone Credit for Refugees, and the Friend Ship.
